Description
The Director of Marketing, Hotels and Casinos is responsible for the strategic development, direction and implementation of all marketing activities for Hard Rock Hotels and Casinos. This individual will serve as the hotel/casino brand guardian by internally integrating brand development and understanding among the corporate office, the field, and the individual properties coupled with external key stakeholders. She/he must create an exceptional climate of professional and personable service that ensures the long term satisfaction of employers, guests, clients, owners, and investors.
Essential Job Functions:
1 Drive compliance and understanding of Brand Identity System.
2 Develop and supervise overall visual identity and design direction.
3 Work closely with the corporate brand marketing team within the context of Hard Rock’s global strategies and extend to our hotel/casino partners.
4 Lead all hotel/casino brand stakeholders to deliver against brand strategy and vision. Recommend strategic direction for brand identity, positioning, image, marketing campaigns and communication plan.
5 Develop implement, and analyze short-term and long-term strategic marketing campaigns.
6 Create and manage budgets, business plans, and operating plans; review and adjust operating plans as necessary to ensure proper utilization of Hard Rock marketing programs and its interaction with other divisions.
7 Analyze competitive activities and create appropriate action plans. Monitor local, regional, and global brand competitive performance for RevPAR, room night, market share, and ADR to drive competitive strategies as well as evaluation of marketing strategies and tactics.
8 Partner with and lead hotel/casino marketing professionals throughout the Hard Rock organization (regional, corporate and property level). Review local/field strategy as it relates to marketing initiatives to ensure compliance with brand strategy and vision.
9 Develop communication objectives, core messaging, creative concepts, metrics and overall brand communication plan (Hard Rock tent-poles).
10 Develop branding/communication toolkits and assets for the brand and hotel/casino properties.
11 Coordinate and approve brand creative, tactics, communications, promotional pieces, and brand collateral across key touch points including internet, email and mail marketing.
12 Coordinate and communicate to ensure creative is effective and appropriate and ensure dissemination of information to relevant parties across organization, field, and hotel/casino properties.
13 Supervise the preparation and administration of marketing budgets in accordance with corporate guidelines, establish and monitor marketing policies and procedures; function as a key advisor, decision-maker and member of the senior management team.
14 Understand and assist in digital marketing initiatives as well as social media relationships and strategies. Utilize electronic media as a catalyst for exposure, increased sales and business opportunities.
15 Leverage music programs and relationships to enhance guest experiences within the hotels and casinos.
16 Work with the Loyalty/CRM Director to develop the customer loyalty program already in existence and develop tactics and systems to address hotel/casino needs to leverage the program drive incremental room revenues and property spend.
17 Help integrate the overall loyalty brand program that can be used across all of our hotel, casino and cafe businesses.
18 Monitor the hotel retail image within each property to assure that they line of products being offered are displayed in a professional merchandising fashion.
Requirements of the position:
1 Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from a college or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to fill this role.
2 At least eight years of experience in hospitality sales & marketing, and the ability to rely upon excellent marketing instincts and substantial experience in a dynamic environment to effectively position the company, as well as the brand.
3 Proven capabilities with developing and managing effective creative and branded experiences in a world class marketing organization.
4 A minimum of three years of marketing experience with a "lifestyle" hotel brand.
5 Knowledgeable in business plan development, strategic planning, hotel openings and repositioning.
6 Proficiency in hospitality sales and marketing technology programs.
7 Has demonstrated a record of success in increasingly responsible positions in marketing with true operational knowledge.
8 Background in an environment that utilizes cutting edge creative marketing approaches.
9 Must have proven exposure to and experience with, disciplined branding techniques, and must have a track record of initiating ideas and seeing them through the execution.
10 Wide range of marketing experiences including new media, on-line, printed media, promotions, events, partnerships, CRM and public relations.
11 Understanding of consumer and market research.
12 Deep understanding of lifestyle hotel products and Guest services.
13 Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
14 Strong interpersonal skills and ability to navigate across a large and diverse organization and lead matrixed teams.
15 Ability to multitask and manage in a fast paced, changing environment while executing a "hands on" self disciplined approach to executing and completing projects
16 Exhibit strong business and financial acumen, strong analytical and project management skills, and be results driven.
17 Use logic to define problems, collect information, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret information and deal with abstract variables for unique or unfamiliar situations.
18 Computer skills (Microsoft office).
19 Will demand of himself/herself and of other the highest professional standards and personal and professional integrity.
