General Dynamics Information Technology is looking for a Security Analyst with 8 years of experience to work on a team supporting a major government agency within the Disaster Recovery (Backup) Computer Security Incident Response Center (CSIRC). This selected candidate will lead a small team located in the Backup CSIRC located in Orlando, Fl. The selected candidate will report to the Program Manager who works in Springfield, Va in the Primary CSIRC. The selected candidate will also work as part of the team and should be a specialist in packet analysis and monitoring to assist in protecting the network security for tens of thousands of users.

Our Security Analysts work with and learn from experienced security team leaders and use the latest technology to detect, analyze and limit intrusions and security events. Candidate must be willing to work in a NOC/SOC environment, demonstrate intuitive problem solving skills and allow for flexible scheduling. Our candidates MUST be able to obtain a government security clearance and obtain a favorable Customs Background Investigation. Weekend and holiday work may be required, but there is limited scheduling flexibility available.

The work site is located in Orlando, Fl. and this position is contingent upon award of an option year extension which is imminent.

JOB DUTIES:
• Security Analyst investigates, identifies, evaluates and documents foreign systems and instrumentation
• Continuously monitors levels of service as well as interprets and prioritizes threats through use of intrusion detection systems, firewalls and other boundary protection devices, and any security incident management products deployed.
• Recognizes potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises thorough reviews and analyses of relevant event detail and summary information.
• Communicates alerts to agencies regarding actual intrusions and potential intrusions and compromises to their network infrastructure, applications and operating systems. Implements counter-measures or mitigating controls.
• Generates end-of-shift reports for documentation and knowledge transfer to subsequent analysts on duty.
• Ensures the integrity and protection of networks, systems, and applications by technical enforcement of organizational security policies, through monitoring of vulnerability scanning devices.
• Works with people from agencies and compiles information for the purpose of understanding agencys mission, goals and needs.
• Performs periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments, including user accounts, application access, file system and external Web integrity scans to determine compliance.
• Monitors and proactively mitigates information security risks.
• Recommends, develops, monitors and enforces information security policies.
• Reports changes, trends and implications regarding design and integration of evolving systems and instrumentation.
• Prepares briefings and reports of analysis methodology and results.
• Maintains knowledge of relevant current security tools as assigned.
• Communicates with agency personnel, law enforcement and upper management for the purpose of developing and providing analysis reports.


Requires at least 8 years of experience and Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field required.

Security Analyst will be a proven team player with excellent oral and written communication skills. Security Analyst should also be a self-starter, capable of independent tasking and project completion with little supervision. Candidate should be able to work flexible schedule. Environment is 24/7/365; candidate must be able to work holidays. Good analytical and problem solving skills and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, team members and upper management; Good skills in implementing and configuring networks and network components; Ability to work with relational databases; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Experience with EnCase, ArcSight, Dragon and Remedy preferred.
